The Venice Basketball League is back!

VENICE, CA – The Venice Basketball League returns to world famous Venice Beach this Sunday, June 1st 2014 for Opening Day with games scheduled to tip off at noon. The 8th season of the  will build off of record attendance and entertainment last summer, a phenomenal World Games tournament in the fall, and the recently concluded VBL Indoors Championship just last month.

Three brand new teams enter the fray this season highlighted by the Brand Black All-Stars (Sponsor of LA Clippers guard Jamal Crawford). Several prospects from last summer return from stints overseas including first year crowd favorite Deshawn “Evolution” Stephens (BJ Japan/SDSU). Former Duke star and current TV analyst, Jay Williams, who frequents the beach courts is also planning to make his VBL debut.

As usual a full day of music and festivities are planned starting at 9am with a Kids of Venice Basketball League (KVBL) camp presented by new 501(c)3 partners, the Hoop Foundation (Inglewood, CA). New KVBL staff includes camp director, Sean Green (NBA Veteran) and Yoga Instructor, Bobbi Hamilton (Chi Universe). New prize giveaways are in store every week at the VBL which takes place this and every Sunday through August.
