My name is Kevin. I’m 6’4 and as you might imagine, I’m a ball player. If I tell you that millions of people play basketball, I won’t teach you anything. On the other hand, if we all share the same passion, we each have different motivations. As far as I’m concerned, I am a 20-year-old point guard who left France to face the American creme de la creme and get an opportunity to be amongst the best of my generation.
My game, is built on speed, direction changes, shooting and being uptempo. I also like the transition game. When I was a kid, people would say that I hogged the ball. I loved having the ball in my hands. I kept this appetite for the ball but with very different objectives since my position requires poise and I have to be able to serve my teammates right on time.
« I said that before basketball was a big part of my life,
now I’ll put it differently: basketball is my life! »
In my everyday life, I am determined, persistent and a real hard worker. This does not stop me from having a smile on my face and listening to the all good the advice I can get. Once on the court, I’m different. Competition takes over everything. If there is one thing I know, it is that this sport is flowing through my veins. It determines my daily rhythm. To be clear, I said that before basketball was a big part of my life, now I’ll put it differently: basketball is my life!
I already asked myself what my life would be without basketball, I have not found an answer yet, and to be honest with you, I do not even want to think about it. I have a special relationship with this sport that gives me confidence, a lot of hope and especially joy. The hardwood floor is where I get pleasure from and the game is what strengthens my relationship with the guys I play with. I feel like myself when I step on the basketball court.
« Today, some people my age are already Rookie of the year in the NBA. »
As I speak, I have come a long way, but I’ll tell you more about that in the next episodes of my Diary. I’m now in a period of my life I like to call « Succeed to improve my parents’ standard of living. » I aspire to be better every day that God gives me, that’s why I work myself through the ground constantly in individual workouts to develop my game and be the best player I can be. I’m young, but I set my mind to a state of emergency. I want to grasp even the slightest of chances at succeeding. Today, some people my age are already Rookie of the year in the NBA.
However, as I say, I have a lot of work. I just finished my Junior College chapter at Weatherford College in Texas, a College I attended thanks to Transatlantic Basketball. I’m about to start another chapter in the NCAA with UMKC, University of Missouri Kansas City in Division 1. This Diary will allow you to discover the stages of my life that helped me get there, show you my style of play, and share the events that have shaped my character. If I only learned one thing here, it is that « a cat cannot survive in the jungle. » So stay tuned on Frenchinsiderz.com to discover more.
