A week prior to the International Women’s day, I stopped by at Maryland University to cover Senior Day opposing Maryland to Virginia Tech. I have truly been impressed by the performance of Alyssa Thomas, senior playing Small Forward. This girl is simply amazing and her resume speaks for itself: ACC Freshman of the year ’11, ACC Player of the year 2012, 2013 and 2014, WBCA Coaches’ All-American (2012), USBWA All-American (2012), AP All-America First Team (2012) and so on…

Her pedigree is just impressive. I had the chance to see her during her first year playing with Diandra Tchatchouang, former starter with Terrapins. Coming in, I wanted to produce a report on Senior day, I ended up focusing on this special day for a special player, since her #25 jersey was retired for all her accomplishments. Alyssa Thomas is my #1 Pick for this March 8th, International Women’s day. Through this video, I wanted to spread the word overseas to thank her for what she brings to the game of Basketball.

Updates April 3rd

Thomas surpassed Crystal Langhorne’s program record of 2,247 points this season during the ACC tournament. After breaking that record, she broke the one from Juan Dixon‘s all-time Terrapin record. Season is still going on, and Alyssa and her teammates made it to the Final 4 taking over #3 Louisville. She already has 28 double-double in only 34 games. She’s definitely one of a kind to maintain such a level of accomplishments.
